Applicants who are interested in graduating with the highest of distinction should consider the Brooks Douglass Scholar Program. Please see our specific application requirements for Douglass Scholars below.


For All In-Person Learning Resource Centers (LRCs)

  • The Admissions Coordinator from the LRC will review all student information and academic records. 

    • Students may be required to complete additional assessments that are needed for proper course and grade-level placement.

  • Initial Consultation  

    • After reviewing any additional assessments and academic records, the LRC Team will schedule an Initial Consultation with the family to discuss a preliminary academic plan for the prospective student.

    • Any necessary fees and official documentation will be collected at this time.

  • Student Orientation and Onboarding  

    • Students will receive a Welcome Letter from the Head of School.

    • The LRC team will go over a revised course plan that was approved by the EOS academic counseling team.

    • Once finalized with the family, the LRC team will enroll the student into their courses and will proceed with student onboarding.

      1. Onboarding will vary by location, but will include school policies and a walk through of our course platforms and the Student Information System.

  • After students complete their Orientation, they will be able to access the Student Information System portal and will be able to come into the center and begin their coursework as early as the following Monday.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS

Transcripts or school records for the current year, as well as two years prior, including any standardized test results, should be uploaded as part of the Application Form or emailed to your Admissions Coordinator.

ADMISSIONS CONSULTATION

Your Admissions Coordinator will schedule an initial consultation with each prospective family.

Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet the LRC Team and get to know our school.

TESTING

Elite Open School will consider the following tests as part of the student’s application for:

Grades 9-12:

  • SSAT Upper Level:
    • While submitting SSAT testing results will be optional for students applying to EOS for the 2021-2022 school year, the Enrollment Management Association (EMA) has created several options for taking the SSAT this year. You can find the options as well as more information about the SSAT here.
  • SAT
  • TOEFL iBT:
    • If you intend to submit TOEFL iBT results, enter Elite Open School's DI CODE (#1570) on your TOEFL registration form and the results will be sent directly to us.
  • Duolingo English Proficiency Test:
    • For families who are not located near a testing site, we recommend taking the Duolingo English Test.
    • The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour for only $49. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview, and writing sample which are shared with Elite Open School when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session. You can also access the test at this link: englishtest.duolingo.com/applicants
    • If you intend to submit Duolingo English Proficiency Test, please follow the directions here to have your score report sent directly to us.

Grades 5-8:

  • SSAT Middle Level
  • TOEFL Junior®

Students who attend a school in the United States: Submitting testing results will be optional. If the student was part of an ESL program in the United States, the Admissions Committee may require the family to submit testing results. Full evaluations and score reports are preferred.

  • Test Scores along with Previous Transcripts will be used to determine appropriate placement for the next school year.
  • Upon review of the student's application materials, the Admission Committee may require additional testing.

Students who attend a school outside the United States MUST submit full score reports for the TOEFL iBT or Duolingo English Proficiency Test.

  • Test Scores along with Previous Transcripts will be used to determine appropriate placement for the next school year.
  • Upon review of the student's application materials, the Admission Committee may require additional testing.

BROOKS DOUGLASS SCHOLAR PROGRAM APPLICANTS ONLY

Brooks Douglass Scholars must submit full score reports of any of the following tests. Accepted students generally submit the following scores or higher:

  • 2000 on the SSAT Upper Level
  • 100 on the TOEFL iBT
  • 120 on the Duolingo English Proficiency Test

A 250-word admissions essay is required for all applicants to the Minerva Baccalaureate and Dual Diploma programs.

For Virtual Global Campus Students

  • The Admissions Team will review all student information and academic records.

  • Students may be required to complete additional assessments that are needed for proper course and grade-level placement.

  • Virtual Initial Consultation

    • After reviewing any additional assessments and academic records, an EOS counselor will schedule a call with the family to discuss a preliminary academic plan for the prospective student.

    • Any necessary fees and official documentation will be collected at this time.

  • Student Orientation and Onboarding  

    • Elite Open School will send an Official Acceptance and Welcome Letter to the family. 

    • Student will receive all onboarding materials and be guided through the school policies, course platforms, and the Student Information System. The Student will also be given their finalized academic course plan at this time.

    • The EOS counselor will enroll the student into their courses and go over any final details regarding enrollment and school policies.

  • After students complete their Orientation, they will be able to access the Student Information System portal and begin their coursework on the following Monday.

ADMISSIONS INTERVIEW

Elite Open School schedules interviews Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

A Family Interview will be conducted via Zoom and usually takes about 45 minutes. Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet our Admissions Committee and get to know our school.
